Bill Tomlinson

BIOGRAPHY

Bill Tomlinson is an Assistant Professor of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine, and a researcher in the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology. He holds an M.F.A. in Experimental Animation from CalArts, and a Ph.D. from the MIT Media Lab. Tomlinson’s research spans the fields of multi-agent systems, human-computer interaction, and real time graphics. His projects have been shown at venues including the ACM SIGGRAPH Emerging Technologies program, the Game Developers Conference, the Sundance Film Festival, and Ars Electronica. In 2007, he received an NSF CAREER award to support his research in interactive multi-device systems. Tomlinson’s interactive projects often focus on environmental themes.
