Amy Adcock
Biography

Amy Adcock teaches courses in the Instructional Design and Technology Program at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. She obtained her Doctor of Education degree in instructional design and technology in 2004 from the University of Memphis, where she worked as a research assistant for the Institute for Intelligent Systems. Her research interests include development of multimedia learning environments for distance education, the use of instructional games and simulations for educational purposes, and exploring the links between cognitive psychology and instructional design. Currently, her game-based learning research is focused on the design, development, and implementation of several games; design heuristics for effective learner supports and assessment in game-based environments; and the adoption of game-based materials in school media centers.
