BIOGRAPHY

John Martin is a doctoral student in the Educational Communications and Technology area in the department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a minor in Learning Sciences and a specialization in Games, Learning, and Society. He is currently working on a dissertation tentatively titled "Sociocultural Learning in the Play and Design of Place-Based Augmented Reality Games" under Dr. Kurt Squire. But beneath that hard academic candy-coating, is a soft-and-chewy heart that has helped run a deep woods camp in Maine called Flying Moose Lodge since 1993.
