BIOGRAPHY Major J.P. McDonough is a Marine Corps artillery officer currently serving as a Modeling & Simulation Analyst for Training and Education Command, Technology Division. He is responsible for defining requirements for the Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE), which includes the Marine Corps' family of Tactical Decision-making Simulations (TDS). He holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the Naval Academy and a M.S. in Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulations (MOVES) from the Naval Postgraduate School. While at NPS he was the co-developer of the current version of the Forward Observer PC Simulation (FOPCSim). ABSTRACT Games & The Military Dr. Robert Wisher, Director of the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative, will chair the panel. Military participants will share their experiences with using or managing the games or gaming technology for military training. They will explore the use of standards, specific projects and lessons learned. |
