BIOGRAPHY

Before joining the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Curriculum and Instruction, David worked for over a decade in instructional design, computer aided instruction, and video games journalism. He also completed graduate work in Philosophy and social theory at the University of Illinois-UC. In his PhD work at UW-Madison, David looks at the development of leadership and civic skills that can be seen in participants in MMOGs and other role playing games Through engagement in these socially-focused games, David argues, participants hone their skills in management, negotiation, critical and scientific reasoning and critical ethics.
