BIOGRAPHY Chris King is a Curriculum Services Project Manager at Florida Virtual School (FLVS). He began his educational career in the Media and Audiovisual Services department of Miami-Dade Community College, first as a technician supervisor and then as operations chief. At the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at University of Florida, he served as the coordinator of distance learning, providing instruction via video to several remote sites. Then, his technical focus changed to instructional design as an e-learning designer for St. Petersburg College’s National Terrorism Preparedness Institute. Prior to joining FLVS, Mr. King worked as the adaptive technology specialist at Santa Fe Community College enhancing educational media accessibility for persons with disabilities. At FLVS, Chris’s focuses on the job of coordinating the development and redevelopment of courseware. He also addresses the need for FLVS courses to be appropriately accessible for students with disabilities. In addition, he is responsible for creating a centralized system for storing and accessing materials useful in multiple courses. Chris has a Master’s degree in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor’ degree in Speech Communication from Syracuse University. SESSIONS FOR THIS AUTHOR |
