Joe Pirkle is an Application Development Specialist at Florida Virtual School (FLVS). Prior to that, he was an Operations Specialist in the US Navy, where he worked on the complex onboard systems that controlled ship’s navigation and defenses. And as a technical support coordinator for Deloitte Consulting, he designed customized computer systems to support his clients’ human resources, accounting, and information sharing needs.

At FLVS, Joe strives to create a positive experience for both students and teachers. His dual goal is to make courseware appealing and effective for students, and allow teachers to concentrate more of their efforts on instruction. Keeping FLVS on the cutting edge of instructional delivery and customer service is the current challenge that guides his career. Joe believes that the FLVS instructional approach closely matches his own preference and learning style, and is pleased to be part of a committed team that puts its heart and soul into making learning exciting and engaging.
