Meagan Rothschild

BIOGRAPHY

Meagan Rothschild is the Instructional Designer for JUMP, an innovative videogame designed to support struggling fourth grade readers. Prior to her role with JUMP, Meagan led the design of a violence- and substance-abuse prevention curriculum for native Hawaiian students, using an interdisciplinary approach that merged health and language arts content standards to support literacy-driven prevention activities. Before joining Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), Meagan worked for the Hawaii Department of Education, serving in varied roles, including high school classroom teacher, grant writer and manager, technology coordinator, and Magnet E-academy coordinator. Meagan has a B.A. and M.Ed. from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, with undergraduate studies in Hawaiian Language and special education, and a post-graduate degree in Educational Technology. As an instructional designer at PREL, her work now focuses on planning and developing multimedia environments that merge research-based educational principles with gaming strategies to engage student learners.
