Michael Downton
Biography
Michael Downton holds a BA in psychology from Purdue University and a minor in music from Indiana University Bloomington. Prior to his college education, Michael worked as an audio engineer, recording everything from radio and television commercials to multi-channel rock and roll, jazz, gospel, and orchestral works. Michael is a doctoral student at IU Bloomington in the Learning Sciences program. His interests include how children learn music via technological sources such as video/computer games (i.e., Rock Band/Guitar Hero) and production tools (GarageBand, Reason, Finale, etc.) and how music and musical concepts are represented in these different platforms.
