Diane Christie

Biography

As the program director of the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Program at the University of Wisconsin–Stout, Diane Christie pioneered a game design and development concentration for the AMCS program. As an associate professor, she introduced gaming into introductory computer science courses as a method to increase student engagement. She is now involved in teaching courses in game design and development. Her research interests include computer science education, the scholarship of teaching and learning, active learning in the classroom, and gaming. After 9 years of industry experience in research and development at Cray Research, Inc., Diane completed her PhD at the University of Minnesota. She has been teaching at UW–Stout for the past 15 years.
